Sonnets in Babylon

Sonnets in Babylon is a beautifully designed, self-published artist’s book by Daniel Libeskind, released in 2011 and available here for the first time. This rare volume presents a collection of 100 original hand drawings by Libeskind—intimate, poetic works that reveal the architect’s deeply personal drawing practice.

Created as visual “sonnets,” the drawings explore memory, rhythm, architecture, and language, offering insight into Libeskind’s creative process beyond the built environment. Expressive linework, abstraction, and notation unfold page by page, situating the book as both an art object and a conceptual archive.
